Edmiston & the art of luxury travel
Imagine your next vacation, one that mixes the very best in luxury, breathtaking destinations and exquisite cuisine. Experience absolute privacy, whilst still having the option to immerse yourself in the heart of the action. Reimagine this idealistic scene in any location your mood takes you. A quiet bay one day, a lively metropolis the next. That’s what a superyacht charter, curated by the team at Edmiston, will deliver.
Edmiston values its London routes and clients and operates globally with offices in Monaco, New York, Miami, LA, Mexico and beyond.
A charter holiday really can be whatever you want it to be. An exhilarating sailing yacht, a classic vessel full of glamour, stories and charm, or the latest in superyacht design might offer you a different on board experience but every superyacht charter holiday has two things in common; unrivalled luxury and the ability to take you places an on-land holiday simply cannot reach. As Edmiston says, no holiday on earth compares to one on water.
Each Edmiston charter is uniquely designed for you. The experienced charter team takes time to understand your style and is constantly working to unearth new destinations, connect with the finest clubs, bars and restaurants and visit hundreds of yachts to ensure you experience the best holiday imaginable.
It’s a lifestyle
More than a yacht brokerage, Edmiston is a lifestyle expert. That’s why it invested in the London Heliport, to deliver seamless access to the heart of London as part of Edmiston’s client culture. As CEO Jamie Edmiston says, “The aim was to bring the attention to detail and teamwork that you would find on board a large yacht to the operation of this heliport.” It is a story that continues with the superyacht brand’s involvement in the Farnborough airport, famous Monaco hospitality and the development of its global operations.
The charter team at its Battersea offices works to create perfect holiday experiences, mixing real-world knowledge with that same belief in delivering for clients. We spoke to some of its London brokers about next summer’s best charter destinations.
Charles Crane splits his time between London and the South of France. An experienced charter broker, he always recommends his second home as a perfect charter destination, with the added benefit of being able to anchor close to shore. “The French Riviera - glamorous, foodie, historical, cultural - offers so much variety. With some of the best wines in the world, I would recommend a tour of the
vineyards, while a simple stroll through any number of pretty, cobbled streets is a joy for the senses.”
Charlotte Hanlon came up through the ranks at the London office and is now a leading charter expert. “One of my favourite spots for charter is the Ionian Islands. This western region boasts jewel-green landscapes, peppered with cypress trees, and towns steeped in Italian architectural heritage. Crystal-clear waters lead into quiet bays and hidden tavernas to make your own. It is the perfect place to visit by yacht.”
Reflecting the depth of knowledge across the team, Leif Gruner worked as a chef and yacht chief steward for many years before moving into concierge and charter. It is a mix that gives Leif unparalleled insight. He says, “The Balearic Islands offer a versatile destination where you can experience wild parties on Ibiza one day, sophisticated shopping and museums on Mallorca the next, and quaint, less touristy anchorages and beaches on Menorca afterward. All of this is just a short overnight trip from Barcelona or Valencia!
Unparalleled luxury
Wherever you choose to enjoy your charter, every Edmiston yacht comes with a dedicated crew, there to ensure smooth sailing but also the holiday of a lifetime, every time. With at least one crew member for every guest (and often many more) the level of service is on a level rarely experienced anywhere else. Your chef, often from a Michelin background, will prepare your favourite dishes, to be served within the splendour of interior dining rooms or spectacular decks.
Like architecture, superyacht design covers all manner of styles and sizes so there is always a yacht to suit your taste. Owner and VIP staterooms transcend anything you might have experienced on land, both in terms of opulence and style. Many will come with a private deck, lounge, balcony or even an entire deck to call your own.
