Lewes is renowned for its attractive and historical town centre with its period buildings and charming mix of independent shops in both the high street and over the hump back bridge to Cliffe High Street.
Lewes has an easy commute with London Victoria approximately one hour and London Bridge 90 minutes. Lewes has a strong sense of community with excellent primary schools, as well as Lewes Priory and Lewes Old Grammar at secondary
level, and South Downs for sixth form. Beyond the legendary Bonfire Societies there are many sports, cultural and hobby clubs and events to participate in.
Three supemarkets – including Waitrose – amply serve the town and surrounding villages, whilst opposite the railway station is the superb new Depot Cinema, which has been a real hit locally. Close to the south coast, Lewes is a stunning location within a river valley and between two peaks of the South Downs.

Lewes is the county town of East Sussex and formerly all of Sussex. It is a civil parish and is the centre of the Lewes local government district. Its population is now around 17,000. The settlement is a traditional market town and centre of communications and in 1264, it was the site of the Battle of Lewes.
