Four steps to selling your home in

The initial excitement and positivity of placing your property on the market and the anticipation of selling your home in this area can soon turn to frustration when you encounter limited interest, poor viewings and a bunch of tyre kickers who are simply having a good old nose around your home.
It’s frustrating, annoying and most importantly, often there does not appear to be a valid reason as to why your property isn’t selling.
The truth is, there are a whole host of reasons why interest in your home may not be forthcoming, or after an initial flurry of viewings, visits have dropped off a cliff.
Much as we like to think our home is absolutely perfect in every way, the truth is that your home is unlikely to be ideal for anyone else but you and buyers will not just come knocking on your door.
They need to be attracted to what your property has to offer and see themselves living in the property. It’s up to you as the vendor to ensure you pull out all the stops, bring your home up to scratch and allow viewers to realise this vision once you’ve made the decision to put it on the market.
1. MAKE YOUR PROPERTY A ‘DREAM HOME’
The pile of shoes in the porch might make the place look ‘lived in’ in your eyes, but to a potential buyer, it’s just messy.
Those throws you have artfully strewn across the sofas might look cosy and colourful to you, but to a potential buyer, it’s just untidy and unnecessary.
That spare bedroom you’re currently using as a study/ dressing room/junk store/gym might be the perfect way of utilising the space for you, but a potential buyer needs to see the room as it was intended – as a bedroom.
