Welcome to
Rodmell
A stunning gem of a village lying three miles south-west of Lewes, nestling amid some of the finest scenery in the South Downs, perfect for those seeking quiet, country living.
The village is surrounded by open countryside including, as mentioned, the stunning South Downs. There is an excellent public house and village hall, as well as the defining Monks House, bought with the help of the Wycherley family by Leonard and Virginia Woolf. The north side of the village has an attractive loop of houses, most with superb views and a footpath walk to Lewes, past the car park and cricket ground. Iford, Northease, Southease, Piddinghoe and Telscombe hamlets are all close by and there is easy access to Brighton via the coast road and Newhaven Cross Channel Port with a railway station at Southease and Lewes.
