Welcome to
Barcombe
The village residents list Barcombe as a very desirable place to live and they have the added benefit of the amenities of Lewes close at hand.
This village is low on traffic with
an attractive number of period cottages interspersed with modern developments and yet retaining a village feel with a thriving community.
There is a village pub in the centre, opposite which is the sports ground with tennis, cricket, football and bowls and a fine pavilion. There is a very popular village primary school and village hall, being the fulcrum of country life.
There are spurs of elegant country homes from the centre, including Spithurst Road, joining the other excellent village pub, The Anchor, on the boating stream beyond north to Barcombe Mills. Country surrounds Barcombe, of course, and yet Cooksbridge railway station is only two miles, connecting to London and making commuting an easy choice.
The hamlets of Littleworth, Spithurst and villages of Newick, Chailey (North and South) are all close-by, opening up Mid Sussex to the buyer.
